Tools and materials for applying liquid wallpaper: what you need to have

Liquid wallpaper is a modern decorative coating that combines ease of application with high aesthetics. This material allows you to create a seamless surface, conceal wall imperfections, and achieve textures that cannot be reproduced with traditional wallpaper or paint.

To ensure an easy and effective application, it's important to have the right tools and materials. This article provides a complete list of everything you need to work with Bioplast liquid wallpaper.

1. Special transparent trowel (the main tool)

The main and most important tool for applying liquid wallpaper is the Bioplast transparent polymer trowel, which ensures the mixture is evenly distributed over the wall.

Why is it irreplaceable?

  • It has a flexible base, allowing you to work even in difficult areas.
  • The transparent material allows you to see the evenness of the layer during application.
  • Rounded edges prevent scratches and gouges.
  • Suitable for both beginners and professionals.

2. Container for mixing wallpaper

To prepare the mixture, you'll need a 10-20 liter plastic bucket. It's convenient for mixing the material, adding decorative elements, and allowing the mixture to soak before application.

Important:

  • The container must be clean and dry.
  • It is not recommended to use a metal bucket.

3. Water at room temperature

Bioplast liquid wallpaper is diluted with ordinary water. One package typically requires 5–6 liters of water (the exact amount is indicated on the packaging).

Adviсe:

  • Do not add water "by eye".
  • The material will absorb excess water slowly, which will increase drying time.

4. Putty

Even if liquid wallpaper hides minor imperfections, proper preparation is the basis for the durability of the coating.

What is putty used for?

  • closing drywall joints;
  • leveling cracks and potholes;
  • preventing stains;
  • reduction of wall porosity.

Proper surface preparation is the key to a beautiful and durable finish. Best suited:

1) Quartz primer paint

White primer-paint with quartz filler, strengthens the surface, provides increased adhesion, makes even surface color, waterproof, vapor-permeable.

2) AQUABLOCK primer-impregnation – high-quality primer based on acrylic dispersion.

Designed to impart water-isolating properties to mineral building materials (drywall, wood, plaster, brick, concrete). It can be used as a concentrate or diluted.

A wide brush that is convenient for applying primer to large areas.

Advantages of brush:

  • uniform surface coverage;
  • high-quality rubbing of the primer into the pores of the wall;
  • the ability to work in corners and difficult areas.

8. Decorative additives (optional)

To create a unique texture, you can add the following to your liquid wallpaper:

  • gold/silver glitter
  • colored glitter
  • holographic glitter/lurex

Bioplast offers a wide range of glitters that are completely safe and designed specifically for interior use.

To apply liquid wallpaper efficiently, you only need few tools — the right ones are essential. An original Bioplast trowel, quartz primer paint, a roller or brush, and a clean container are all you need to create a beautiful, textured, and durable finish.
